How to use Areazine

One place for the safety signals that come from a dozen different agencies.

  • Start from your city or ZIP to see the recalls, weather and hazards that actually apply to you. Check your area
  • Track more than one category, a recall and a weather alert never come from the same source. Browse recalls
  • Compare places on safety, income and growth before you move. City rankings

Areazine aggregates U.S., Australian, Canadian and UK government feeds; coverage depends on what each agency publishes.

About this data

How Areazine works, and why you can trust these alerts

What this site is

Areazine is a public safety portal that aggregates recall notices, weather warnings, earthquake reports and other official alerts from U.S. federal agencies (CPSC, FDA, NHTSA, NOAA, USGS, FEMA, EPA) plus equivalent agencies in Canada, the UK and Australia, into one searchable, plain-language feed.

Editorial process

  1. Source. Poll each official government feed on a schedule matched to that agency’s own publishing cadence, from every 30 minutes for USGS earthquakes to every 4 hours for CPSC and FDA recalls.
  2. Verify. Compare new records against our database using each agency’s own identifiers (recall numbers, alert IDs, earthquake event IDs), then run a structured fact-verification step confirming the key data points match the source notice.
  3. Publish. Publish a plain-language summary that preserves every factual detail from the original notice, linking back to the issuing agency so readers can audit our record against the source.

Editorial independence & corrections

The Areazine editorial team is independent and accepts no payment, sponsorship, or promoted placement from any manufacturer or agency. Found an error or a stale record? File a correction via the contact page, we investigate and correct it promptly. See our methodology for full source attribution and refresh cadence.
